Most people learn most things from on-the-job coaching. Informal teaching, coaching or instruction goes on in your organization every day. With this 90 minute workout, you can run a short course on on-the-job coaching and have a huge impact on the way your people prepare for and conduct their coaching sessions.
Use it with team leaders, supervisors and managers – with anyone who needs to show others how to do specific tasks. Good on-the-job coaching means better transfer of skills and knowledge. And improved productivity.
The video contains nine short scenes illustrating on-the-job coaching taking place in three different workplace environments: a kitchen, a garage workshop and an office. These short video triggers are designed to prompt discussion around the learning messages. They also show how the principles of good on-the-job coaching apply to all work contexts.
Participants are asked to bring a real-life on-the-job coaching session with them to the session to practise during the workout. A reproducible Participant’s Workbook provides ready-made additional material for the workout. The focus is on transferring skills back into the workplace and on bringing about real behavioural change in the way your people conduct their on-the-job coaching.
To save you time, this resource comes with a ready-prepared PowerPoint presentation and an Invitation to attend the workout. You’ll find these on the CD, along with the self-study version of the program, and an electronic version of the Participant’s Workbook.
