“Anybody can find something they can do – and do well. I like to show people you can either stop trying or you can pick yourself up and keep going. It is just more fun to keep going.” – Ben Comen
- Everyone can make a difference
- With the right attitude, you can accomplish anything
- Be compassionate and kind
- Perseverance trumps abilities
Winners never quit and Quitters never win.
Here is a true and inspirational story about determination, attitude and strength of character.
Meet Ben Comen. He’s a high school student who’s on the cross-country track team. Ben’s not the fastest runner on the team. In fact, he’s the slowest. He has never won a single race the entire time he’s been on his High School track team. Ben, you see, has cerebral palsy.
But something amazing happens after about 25 minutes—when everyone else is done with their race, everyone comes back to run with Ben. Ben is the only runner who, when he falls, has someone pick him up. Ben is the only runner who, when he finishes, has a hundred people running behind him.
What Ben teaches us is special. When you compete against everyone else, no one wants to help you. But when you compete against yourself, everyone wants to help you.
Use this for your training on attitude, character building, dedication, perseverance, personal development, teamwork and much more….
